Here you have some exercises to practise the structure 'have something done' (normally when you pay someone else to do something for you).

Example of a mediation task
(by Javier Quijano Espinoza)
Hiya Jackson,
How are you?I'm so glad to hear you're coming to Spain. I can't believe we'll soon be making plans together! The good old times!
Regarding your question, I've been checking out how to open a bank account here in Spain for non-residents like you. It's not such a big deal but you need to check you have all the documents required because, otherwise, it'll be impossible for you to open a bank account.
First of all, given that you aren't a European citizen, you'll need your passport. Check out its expiration date, as it must be updated. In addition, you'll also need to request your NIE, in other words, your identity card for foreigners. I'll have to ask for info on how you can request this document.
After that, you'll also need to hand in a document to certify your working status. In your case, a copy of your contract will be more than enough. Apart from this, you'll be needing another document to prove that you're officially residing in Spain. If you're gonna rent a house, the contract with your landlord would work, or simply an electricity bill.
Finally, it'd be advisable to ask for a non-resident certificate, as some banks can request it. It's not a must-have document but I recommend you have it just in case. To get one, you just have to go to a nearby police station and show your passport, but, bear in mind that not all police stations will do this for you. If I were you, I'd try at a police station in a highly populated area, but it might be a good idea to phone before going to make sure they can provide you with that certificate.
Last but not least, all the aforementioned documents must be translated into Spanish by an a certified translator. Try to have them translated before coming to Spain, as I imagine you know where to find reliable translators in your country. Otherwise, you may find it more difficult to do it here in Spain, but don't worry I'm sure I can help you to find a good translator here. I'll ask around.
That's all for now. Should you have any more questions, ask me.
I'm looking forward to seeing you in Spain.
Fond regards,
Javier

New Year's resolutions
Well, I start off with a new fresh entry of the blog in 2019. In this case, I intend to speak about New Year resolutions. I assume that you are familiar with them : New Year resolutions are the promises that you make at the beginning of the year, promises that you're willing to stick to, but, eventually, you usually break them, or do you not ? They are the principles that are going to lead your whole year, the commitments that you are willing to make this New Year but you failed to make last year.
Here you have some possible structures in English that you can use to enunciate your New Year resolutions :
This year, I will .../I'll
I intend to... this year
I hope I will ... this year
I hope to... this year
I'd like to ... this year
I wish I could... this year
I promise I'll ... this year
This year I'll definitely ....
This year I'm going to...
What guidelines are you going to pursue during 2019 ? In my case, I intend to enjoy life a bit more; I wish I could control my temper a bit more this year and I'd like to be even happier. If possible, I hope to read more. Not so interesting resolutions, right ?
Now I'm going to share two videos with one. The first video is an example of some New Year resolutions set out by some people, you know, quit smoking, go to the gym and do exercise...
The second video attempts to answer the question : "do New Year resolutions work ?" from a scientific point of view.
What are your New Year resolutions ? Please, share them with us : post them in a comment and try to stick to them. Remember, your intention is important. You have 365 opportunities to succeed in this newly born year !
